Through invitations by people across regions in Queensland, the Community Development Institute Initiative (CDII) has been having discussions with people from a range of sectors who have an interest in community development. These critical conversations have allowed CDII to develop connections and hear people’s thoughts on how and why the formation of this Institute could be of value to them and others in their local areas.
The formational process of CDII is being developed through participatory development practices. The direction of the Institute is being shaped by dialogue with people who have an interest in community development practices. These people range from individual citizens and community group volunteers to organisations, peak bodies and government. These discussions will inform the preparation for a decision-making forum on the establishment of this Institute.
See the series of articles of people from regions in Queensland sharing their thoughts about community development and how they would envisage CDII working with and supporting them.
